COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Sri Lanka welcomed more than 100,000 tourists in the month of April as well.
This is the fourth consecutive month this year that more than 100,000 tourists have visited the country.
According to latest data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 105,498 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka in April.
A total of 102,545 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka in January, 107,639 in February while 125,495 foreign nationals were welcomed last month.
Meanwhile, the SLTDA said in April, the highest number of tourists arrived from India.
A total of 19,915 Indian nationals arrived in the country in April. Meanwhile, the SLTDA added 14,656 tourists from Russia, 8,743 from the United Kingdom, 7,404 from Germany, 5,535 from France, 5,118 from China, 4,996 from Australia, 3,940 individuals from the United States, 3,310 from Canada and 2,318 individuals from Japan visited Sri Lanka this month.
The SLTDA said a record 125,495 tourists arrived in March.
Accordingly, 441,177 tourists have arrived in the country so far this year.
