COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Over 41,000 tourists have arrived in Sri Lanka in the first three weeks of November.
According to data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Sri Lanka has welcomed 609,566 tourists this year.
The highest number of tourist arrivals was recorded in March this year.
106,500 tourists arrived in March and then the numbers gradually reduced due to various reasons including the economic crisis, protests and being the off season for traditional travelers.
The number of tourists has picked up in the last few months and with the winter season in Europe; the Ministry of Tourism is expecting a large number of arrivals from western countries.
