State Minister Anuradha Jayaratne says Sri Lanka failure to be innovative in securing lines of foreign direct investments, is unattractive to foreign investors.
Speaking to media in Kandy, the State Minister said the country faced many hardships and spent large sums on eradicating the coronavirus, adding that may industries suffered as a result.
He added, Rs.6,000 has been spent on each citizen to be vaccinated, raising Sri Lanka to a country with the highest vaccination rates in Asia.
However, due to such spending, Anuradha Jayaratne called on the people to think anew and pursue new lines of investments.
He encouraged the people to embrace change in the world.
State Minister Jayaratne revealed of plans to include a third party in inspecting the quality of organic fertiliser imported from China, as the production company in China claims that the fertiliser stock is not substandard.
He assured that the government is of the stance that they will not allow the ship to enter the country, if quality assurance tests fail.
