Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa charges that Sri Lanka is reeling in repression today.
Speaking at an event today (25), MP Premadasa said two years ago the public voted for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna expecting a prosperous country, adding that in two years, the very people who were granted power, have ensured that the country lacks milk powder and other essentials.
He claimed that certain individuals have stated that upon reaching the summit of the Lotus Tower, that was opened to the public recently, they view heaven while some claim that upon looking down they are reminded of their hardships.
He also charged that the youth who continue to protest against the government are being arrested on charges of the Prevention of Terrorism Act, adding that it is an illegal form of repression including establishing high security zones.
