Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarian Thushara Indunil Amarasena says the country will face many issues in the future as Sri Lanka is currently not recognized as a developing country in the world.

MP Amarasena said Sri Lanka is now being blacklisted by the international community due to debts adding the country does not have any dollars.

The Parliamentarian questioned the state of economic security as the country’s cost of living has now become unbearable.

He said Minister Namal Rajapaksa claimed they will ensure that not a single Omicron patient will be allowed to enter the country adding however an infected individual has now entered the country.

The MP said the health sector is being weakened daily forcing health workers to take to the street.

MP Amarasena said the government overspent USD15 on Chinese manufactured Sinopharm vaccines when they could have purchased European manufactured COVID-vaccines for USD 2-4.

The MP said the country’s food security has fallen in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic due the government’s foolish organic fertiliser programme.
