Sri Lanka Cricket says permission has been granted to National Players Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga to take part in the Indian Premier League 2021.
Permission was granted by SLC in consultation with the Technical Advisory Committee.
The ‘No Objection Certificate’ to the duo was issued for them to join the IPL teams starting from the 15th of September, following the completion of the South Africa Tour of Sri Lanka.
The two players will join the Sri Lanka squad on the 10th of October 2021 to play in the two warm-up games prior to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers.
Royal Challengers Bangalore roped in leg-spinning all-rounder Hasaranga in place of Australia’s Adam Zampa and 29-year-old pacer Dushmantha Chameera for Australia’s Daniel Sams, who is unavailable for the IPL.
Both Hasaranga and Chameera were impressive performers in last month’s Sri Lanka-India white ball series.
