All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga and paceman Dushmantha Chameera have been named in the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year 2021.
The ICC Team of the Year recognises 11 outstanding individuals who have impressed in a calendar year.
Pakistan’s Babar Azam has been named as the captain of the team.
Azam in 2021 played six matches and aggregated 405 runs at an average of 67.5 with two centuries.
Bangladesh trio Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mustafizur Rahman have also been included in the ICC ODI team of the year.
It also includes South African duo Janneman Malan and Rassie van der Dussen, Irish duo Paul Stirling and Simi Singh, and Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman. Hasaranga, who had a breakthrough year in the shorter format in 2021 picked up 12 wickets in 14 matches.
He also scored 356 runs at an average of 27.38.
Chameera meanwhile playing in 14 matches, has picked up 20 wickets at an average of 29.30 with one five-wicket haul.
