Sri Lanka has named the playing XI for the first Twenty20 International against Australia.
The series opener will get underway at 7pm at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium today.
The Sri Lanka white-ball unit will be led by all-rounder Dasun Shanaka that has a host of Indian Premier League stars who featured during the recently concluded tournament.
IPL stars Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne and Maheesh Theekshana will feature in today’s encounter.
However the selectors have not included Matheesha Pathirana in the XI.
Pathum Nissanka and Danushka Gunathilaka will open the batting while Charith Asalanka, Kusal Mendis and Rajapaksa will strengthen the middle order.
Skipper Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga and Chamika Karunaratne will feature as all-rounders while Dushmantha Chameera will lead the bowling attack which also includes Maheesh Theekshana and Nuwan Thushara.
Australia announced their team yesterday, sticking with the three-pronged pace attack that led them to the World Cup last year.
Aaron Finch will lead the visitors during the tour which comprises of three T20Is, five ODIs and two Test matches.
