Sathya Sandeepani, Kaushani Nuthyangana, Hansima Karunaratne and Tharika Sewwandi, who were all part of the set-up that took on India in a limited-overs series, have been left out of Sri Lanka’s squad for the upcoming Commonwealth games to be played in Birmingham, starting on July 28.

Incidentally, the squad for the series against India had 19 members, which has now been trimmed to 15 for the Commonwealth games.

Chamari Athapaththu will again lead the side.

Sri Lanka will also hope for impactful performances from the young all-rounder Kavisha Dilhari Inoka Ranaweera, Oshadi Ranasinghe are some of the other key players in the side.

Sri Lanka Women are in Group B and will play against England (30th July), New Zealand (2nd August) and South Africa (4th August) in the T20 competition.
