Sri Lanka have extended their lead over Pakistan to 444 runs at lunch on Day Four of the Second Test in Galle.

At lunch on Day Four, Sri Lankans were on 297/7 with Dhananjaya de Silva was on 84 while Ramesh Mendis was unbeaten on 8.

Earlier this morning, Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne became the sixth Sri Lankan to score 6,000 Test runs.

He achieved the feat while playing in his 158th test innings.

Karunaratne went onto score his 31st fifty before being dismissed for 61.

Dunith Wellalage was the other batsman to be dismissed during the morning session for 18.

Naseem Shah and Mohammad Nawaz have picked up two wickets apiece in the innings.

Sri Lanka posted 378 in their first innings while Pakistanis were dismissed for 231.
