Sri Lanka will take on Australia in the first of the three-match Twenty20 International series in Colombo today.
The series opener is scheduled to get underway at 7pm at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
Sri Lanka and Australia met in a five-match T20I series in February with Australia winning 4-1.
Australia have already named the playing XI for today’s game which will be led by Aaron Finch.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have named newcomers Nuwanidu Fernando and Matheesha Pathirana in the squad.
Sri Lanka is expected to go with five front line batters along with three all-rounders during the series opener.
Showers could play a part in today’s game with rains coming down frequently in Colombo in the past few days.
The Premadasa pitch is not expected to cause much trouble to batters and therefore fans can look forward to a high-scoring game barring rain.
Sri Lanka have lost 10 of the last 12 T20Is, dating back to the T20 World Cup and therefore will be keen to get off to a winning start in the series opener today.
