SLC Greys led by Dasun Shanaka will take on the Dinesh Chandimal-led SLC Reds in the finals of the Sri Lanka Cricket Invitational Twenty20 League tournament in Kandy this evening.
The final is set to get underway at 7pm at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Greys finished the league stage on top of the points table by remaining unbeaten in six outings.
Greys won four of the league matches including one against the Reds.
The remaining two games were abandoned due to rain. Skipper Shanaka guided the Greys to finals by scoring 210 runs at 52.5.
He also picked up two wickets in the league games. Pacer Nuwan Pradeep claimed 5 wickets and was the pick of the bowlers for the Greys.
Meanwhile, Reds’ skipper Chandimal scored 169 runs at an average of 42.25 to complement his bowling unit who helped them to reach the finals of the tournament with three wins.
Fast bowler Himesh Ramanayake and experienced spinner Seekkuge Prasanna picked up 7 wickets each while pacer Chamika Karunaratne had 5 scalps during the league stage.
The tournament organized by SLC as a preparation for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup saw SLC Blues finishing third while the winless-Greens was rooted at the bottom of the standings after the end of the league stage games.
