SLC Greys consolidated their unbeaten run in the Sri Lanka Cricket Invitational Twenty20 League tournament by defeating SLC Blues by 16 runs in the sixth match at the Pallekele International Cricket stadium yesterday.
Opting to bat first Greys made a respectable 167/4 in their allotted 20 overs.
28-year-old Lahiru Madushanka had a memorable outing yesterday scoring 74 off just 39 deliveries which included five sixes and five fours.
Charith Asalanka added 54 off 47 balls to the total.
During their chase, Blues were in command earlier on with wicket-keeper batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama scoring 58 off 42 deliveries at the top.
Although Ashen Bandara played a cameo scoring 29 off 15 balls, the remaining batters failed to deliver.
For the Greys, Nuwan Pradeep and skipper Dasun Shanaka picked up two wickets apiece.
During yesterday’s earlier match, Reds beat the Greens by 10 wickets.
