Skipper Dasun Shanaka says he is expecting better returns from his batsmen during the second Twenty20 International against Australia.

Sri Lanka was bundled out of 128 in 19.3 overs in the first T20 in Colombo yesterday.

Only Charith Asalanka and Pathum Nissanka made 30s while skipper Shanaka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa were dismissed for ducks.

Senior batter Kusal Mendis was out for 1. Australia completed the chase in 14 overs without losing a wicket.

Speaking to media, Shanaka said, “I hope the batters will be better in the next game. We had a serious talk on this in the days leading in. We’ve got a strong side. It’s a matter of getting one win.”

The Shanaka-team led will take on the Australians in the second T20 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo from 7pm.

Sri Lanka must win today’s encounter to save the three-match series which concludes on Saturday in Kandy.
