Former Sri Lankan skipper Sanath Jayasuriya says Sri Lankan cricketers show poor form in running between the wickets.
In an online discussion with commentator Roshan Abeysinghe, former batting great Jayasuriya said batters have a responsibility to score runs between the wickets.
Sanath Jayasuriya said a key point that can be fine tuned was the lack of extra runs.
He said a fundamental principal when batting is to take a quick first run adding that the Sri Lankan team does not seem to make such efforts.
Sanath Jayasuriya noted in order to defeat teams such as Australia it is important to improve on such points.
