Rumesh Ratnayake has been appointed as the interim Coach of the Sri Lanka national team for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour of Sri Lanka.
Ratnayake is currently serving as a Fast Bowling Coach at the High-Performance Centre.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket said Ruvin Peiris has been appointed as the interim Batting Coach of the national side for the Zimbabwe series. Peiris is also attached to the High-Performance Centre as a Batting Coach.
Consultant Coach Mahela Jayawardena meanwhile will leave for West Indies on the 9th of January to join the U-19 Team, who is currently in the Caribbean for the ICC U-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Jayawardena will remain with the U-19 team during the course of the World Cup.
The ODI series will be played behind closed doors at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
The series will be played on the 16th, 18th and 21st of January.
After the Zimbabwe ODIs, Sri Lanka will travel to Australia for a five T20I match series in February before the away Indian challenge comprising two Tests and three T20Is.
