Sri Lanka’s Palitha Halgahawela has claimed fifth place in the Men’s Shot Put-F63 event at the 2020 Paralympic Games with a throw of 13.4m.
Halgahawela threw a distance of 13.4m in his fourth attempt but was not enough to be among the medals.
Aled Davies of Great Britain won the gold medal with a throw of 15.33m.
Sajad Mohammadian of Iran won the silver while Kuwait’s Faisal Sorour secured the bronze medal in the event.
Sri Lanka has so far won a gold and a bronze medal at the Paralympic Games and is placed 57th in the standings. The 2020 Paralympic Games concludes tomorrow in Tokyo.
