Mickey Arthur says he will step down as the Head Coach of the Sri Lanka National Cricket team after the upcoming Test series against the West Indies.
Sri Lanka will take on the West Indies in a two-match Test series starting Sunday at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
The Sri Lanka-West Indies series will conclude on the 3rd of December. Mickey Arthur, who has previously coached South Africa, Australia and Pakistan, has been appointed as the Head Coach of the Derbyshire County Cricket Club.
He was appointed as the Head Coach of the national team in February 2020.
Mickey Arthur on Twitter said, Sri Lanka cricket is in a better place now than when he started.
He added, “Sad that it is the end of the road with SL after the WI test series! I have loved every minute of coaching this great country! To the players and people of SL a big thank you!”
Under Arthur’s watch, Sri Lanka managed to win five matches in the recently concluded Twenty 20 World Cup in the Middle East.
