Jaffna Kings comprehensively defeated Kandy Warriors by 7 wickets via the DLS method in the 12th game of the 2021 Lanka Premier League at the R Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo this evening.
Chasing 95 runs in 10 overs in a rain-affected game, the Kings reached the target in 8.4 overs.
Skipper Thisara Perera hit an unbeaten 29 off 13 deliveries while at the top Avishka Fernando scored 23 off 12 balls.
Earlier, Kandy Warriors after being put into bat managed 94/2 in 12.2 overs before rain suspended proceedings.
At the stoppage, Charith Asalanka was on 44 off 34 balls while Ahmed Shehzad and Minod Bhanuka hit 20s.
Warriors did not bat after the long rain delay and Kings were set a revised target which they reached losing three wickets and claiming their fourth win of the 2021 LPL tournament.
