Batsman Kusal Mendis who tested positive for Covid-19 has recovered and will be available for selections for the third Twenty20 International against Australia scheduled for tomorrow.
Sri Lanka Cricket said Mendis joined the team today, following medical clearance. He missed the first two T20s of series.
Meanwhile, paceman Binura Fernando confirmed to have contracted COVID-19.
SLC said Fernando was found to be positive during a routine Rapid Antigen Test conducted on Saturday while the result was confirmed following a PCR test.
Sri Lanka must win tomorrow’s encounter to stay alive in the series after back-to-back defeats in Sydney.
Tomorrow’s third T20 is scheduled to begin in Canberra at 1.40pm.
