India has dominated the first session today posting 468/7 at lunch on the second day.
A batting-friendly track saw Jadeja play a matured knock to bring up his second Test century, ably supported by a fifty from Ashwin, who was dismissed in the dying minutes.
Jadeja remains unbeaten on 102, with Jayant Yadav at the other end.
Suranga Lakmal managed to claim the wicket of Ashwin with the only wicket of the day so far. It was a much needed breakthrough for the visitors.
The pitch has been favouring the batter, with the new, hard ball coming on quite nicely since the start of play on Day 2.
India will mostly be looking to make full use of the track until at least Tea is taken.
Earlier in the day, players made their way to the middle after observing a minutes silence to mourn the passing away of legends Rodney Marsh and Shane Warne yesterday.
India, and Sri Lanka players wore black armbands to mourn death of Shane Warne and Rod Marsh.
