India defeated Sri Lanka by 238 runs to win the second test of the two-match series in Bengaluru and claimed a 2-0 series whitewash a short while ago.

Chasing a 447-run target, Sri Lanka was bundled out for 208 in their second innings.

Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne today scored his 14th test century before being dismissed for 107.

Kusal Mendis hit 54.

For India, Ravichandran Ashwin finished with figures of 4/55 while Jasprit Bumrah had 3/23.

Sri Lanka in their first innings managed just 109.

India posted 252 in their first essay and declared the second innings on 303 for 9.

India also defeated Sri Lanka in the first test match in Mohali by an innings and 222 runs after winning the Twenty20 International series between the sides 3-0.
