Havelock Sports Club outmuscled Sri Lanka Army 36-14 in an Inter-Club A-Division Rugby League tournament encounter at Havelock Park this evening.
Playing under floodlights for the second week in a row, the home team was clinical and scored three unanswered tries in the opening half. They led 19-00 at lemons.
Army capitalized on the number advantage after the yellow card for Mithun Hapugoda scoring back-to-back tries in the second half.
However, Havies showed their superior set of skills and crossed the line twice to extend the lead and seal a bonus point win.
Front-rower Azmeer Fajudeen scored a hattrick of tries for the home team.
The bonus point win helped the Havies to rise to the top of the Points Table.
Two more games of the Inter-Club Rugby League tournament will be worked off tomorrow evening.
CR & FC will take on Sri Lanka Air Force at Longdon Place while Police Sports Club will take on Sri Lanka Navy at Police Park.
Both games will be worked-off at 4pm.
