CLUB RUGBY: Police beat Army to be among top four

Police Sports Club defeated Sri Lanka Army 25-07 this evening to qualify for the cup segment of the Inter-Club A-Division Rugby League tournament.

Police Sports Club defeated Sri Lanka Army 25-07 this evening to qualify for the cup segment of the Inter-Club A-Division Rugby League tournament.

Police had a commanding 25-00 lead at lemons.

Although Police could not breach the defense of the Army in the second half, the home team collected a bonus point win due to their heroics in the opening 40 minutes of the game.

The win helped them rise to the fourth place in the Points Table which has guaranteed them a place in the Cup segment of the tournament which begins next week.
