Bangladesh ended an eventful Day Two of the first Test against Sri Lanka on 76/0 in Chattogram sharing honours heading into the business end of the series opener.
Tamim Iqbal was unbeaten on 35 while Mahmudul Hasan Joy was not out on 31 at stumps.
The home team trails the Lankans by 321 runs.
Earlier, Sri Lanka posted a respectable 397 in the first innings of the first Test. Former skipper Angelo Mathews who played a memorable innings missed out on his second double century in Test cricket today.
He was the last man to fall in the innings for 199 runs off a Nayeem Hasan delivery.
Mathews hit 19 boundaries and a six in his marathon innings.
He was ably supported by Dinesh Chandimal who scored 66 runs.
The pair put on 133 runs for the fifth wicket.
Kusal Mendis yesterday scored 54 runs after skipper Dimuth Karunaratne opted to bat first.
For Bangladesh, Hasan finished with figures of 6/105 while Shakib Al Hasan had 3/60. Day Three of the first Test will resume at 9.30am.
