23 Sri Lankans set to be part of the 2022 IPL Player Auction

A total of 23 Sri Lankan players will be part of the upcoming 2022 Indian Premier League Mega Player Auction.

A total of 23 Sri Lankan players will be part of the upcoming 2022 Indian Premier League Mega Player Auction.

Although 36 Sri Lankans were included in the initial list of 1,214, the auction register has been pruned to 590 from the original list which was compiled and distributed on January 22.

A total of 590 cricketers are now set to go under the hammer during the two-day mega auction which will take place in Bengaluru on the 12th and the 13th of February.

This will be the 15th season of the IPL and some of the biggest stars of world cricket will be coming together to light up the prestigious tournament.

Amongst 590 players who have registered for the auction, 228 are capped players, 355 are uncapped players and seven belong to Associate Nations.

48 Players have kept their base price at 20 million Indian rupees while 20 players in the auction list have the reserve price set at 15 million Indian rupees.

34 players including Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga have a reserve price of 10 million Indian rupees.

In addition to Hasaranga, Thisara Perera, Isuru Udana, Dushmantha Chameera, Kusal Perera, Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunatilaka, Dasun Shanaka, Seekkuge Prasanna, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Avishka Fernando and Charith Asalanka will also be part of the upcoming player auction.
