A special traffic plan will be enforced around the Bellanwila Raja Maha Viharaya in the Boralesgamuwa Police Division owing to the Pawada and Randoli Perahera today (26) and tomorrow (27).
The Pawada Perahera is due to be held from 7pm today till 1am tomorrow.
Accordingly, vehicular movement will be restricted from the Boralesgamuwa Town and the Belanthota Junction.
The public has therefore been requested to resort to alternate routes during this period.
Motorists heading to Maharagama, Piliyandala, and from Colombo to Dehiwela have been urged to use Pepiliyana Junction, Nedimala, and Dehiwela.
Vehicles heading to Galle Road from Boralesgamuwa have been urged to use the Weherahera Junction, the Gangarama Road, and the Golumadama Junction.
Meanwhile, the Randoli Perahera will commence at 8pm tomorrow (27) and will parade the streets of Boralesgamuwa, Belanthota Junction, and Vihara Mawatha till 3am on Sunday.
Police said during this period vehicular movement at the Boralesgamuwa Junction, Belanthota Junction, Anderson Road, and Pepiliyana Junction will be limited.
Vehicles heading from Dehiwela and Ratmalana to Maharagama or Boralesgamuwa have been advised to use the William Junction, turn right from Kohuwala to reach Maharagama and Boralesgamuwa.
Motorists plying from Dehiwela to Pepiliyana have been advised to turn left to Anderson Road, and reach Kohuwala to reach Boralesgamuwa, Nugegoda, and Colombo.
Vehicles from Horana, Piliyandala, Kesbewa, and Maharagama that wish to reach Galle Road and back have been urged to use Gangarama Road.
