Secretary of the Sri Lanka Society of Nephrology, Specialist Dr. Arjuna Marasinghe says it is essential that persons with kidney related illnesses obtain a vaccine against the coronavirus promptly.
Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo yesterday, Dr. Marasinghe said all vaccines administered in Sri Lanka are suitable for kidney patients.
Dr. Marasinghe said pneumonia and complications arising from the coronavirus can be minimised through vaccinations.
Dr. Marasinghe added it is imperative that kidney patients be fully vaccinated.
He however said fully vaccinated individuals must be cautious for around two weeks until immunity is boosted.
