COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Special Commodity Levy imposed on a kilogram of imported maize for the production of Thriposha has been reduced to Rs.25 from Rs.75.
The Ministry of Finance said the tax reduction will be in effective from the 18th of May.
Meanwhile, the Finance Ministry said the tax concession granted for the import of dates has been lifted from the 18th of May.
A massive tax reduction was given by the government to import dates ahead of the Ramadan period.
