SL reports highest number of COVID-deaths in a single day

Sri Lanka confirmed the highest number of COVID-19 deaths in a single day yesterday.

111 deaths were reported on Sunday, the second highest number of coronavirus related deaths in a single day.

The Government Information Department reported that 118 deaths were confirmed on Monday, the 9th of August.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka’s total coronavirus related deaths increased to 5,340.

The Department said 79 males and 39 females were among the victims.

17 individuals were between the ages of 30 and 59 while 101 persons among the casualties were 60 or above.
