The Samagi Jana Balawegaya organised a protest in Kurunegala focusing on several issues such as increasing fuel prices, increasing cost of living and stalling of primary education.
SJB MP Ashoka Abeysinghe speaking at the protest claimed that all social groups including children, parents and elders have been burdened due to the weak economic management of the present government.
He said Sri Lanka could likely face a foreign invasion from India due to ties with China.
The Parliamentarian added the government failed to ensure education for children during the pandemic.
He stated the country will face a fuel scarcity, while teachers are on strike over salary anomalies.
The MP also recalled that the faction that promised not to sell state assets and swore to protect them, are engaged in the opposite and are steering the country towards bankruptcy.
