The Samagi Jana Balawegaya assures that they will fight for every Sri Lankans right to free education.

Speaking at a protest in Colombo North, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa said the party will fight for opportunities of a students right to learn free of charge.

He said the syllabi has not been covered in many schools, as teacher unions who supported the government to come into power have taken to the streets in protest.

The Opposition Leader called for the State to provide solutions to salary anomalies of teachers.

MP Premadasa noted the government is attempting to amend the University Grants Commission Act and include provisions of the Kotelawala Defence University bill.

He added the security forces possess the skill to operate the KDU, yet noted the SJB will fight to ensure free education in Sri Lanka.
