A group of Samagi Jana Balawegaya Parliamentarians have lodged a complaint with the Consumer Affairs Authority over the composition of gas cylinders and gas leak explosions.

SJB MP JC Alawathuwala when contacted by NewsRadio said they requested a comprehensive investigation into the explosions and called for those found guilty to be dealt with according to the law.

MP Alawathuwala said there is a great fear today at homes owing to the domestic gas cylinders.

He added the investigation reports are yet to be tabled in Parliament by Minister Udaya Gammanpila.

MP Alawathuwala said according to information they received, the propane and butane composition in gas is 49:51 which was previously 80:20.

He claimed the change in the standards of chemicals is the leading issue and therefore he said the party decided to call for a prompt investigation.
