Police have arrested six individuals on charges of assaulting and obstructing duties of a group of Police officers who were attempting to resolve a dispute between two groups in Piramanthanaru, Dharmapuram in Kilinochchi.
The dispute was reported on the 4th of October, while the individuals who had assaulted the Police officers were arrested while at a work site in Rajagiriya yesterday.
The suspects, aged between 23 and 28, are residents of Pumandanaru, Dharmapuram and Piramanthanaru.
The group is due to be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court today.
