The first dose of the Chinese manufactured Sinopharm vaccine will be administered at several main hospitals to persons 60 years and above.

The vaccination drive will commence this morning.

The Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said the vaccines will be administered at the Colombo National Hospital, the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital, the Avissawella Base Hospital, the National Institute of Infectious Diseases and at the ViharamahaDevi Park.

The vaccination camps will be open from 8:30am.
