COLOMBO (NewsRadio); The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers at several places in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Western and Central provinces during the afternoon or night.

The Met Department said several spells of showers may occur in the Eastern province and in the Polonnaruwa district.

Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the island.

Meanwhile, the general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
