Sri Lanka Navy Ship ‘Shakthi’ is due to set sail for Chennai, India to transport another stock of medical-grade oxygen.

The vessel that left the Trincomalee harbour for the Chennai Port on the 17th August, returned to the Colombo harbour at midnight yesterday with a shipment of 40 tonnes of medical-grade oxygen.

Meanwhile, the Indian Naval Ship Shakhti, a Fleet Tanker, that arrived at the Colombo Port last evening, with a shipment of 100 tonnes of medical-grade oxygen, will leave for India today.

The Indian Navy responded to a call of Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne from the Chief of Naval Staff of India to support the transportation of the medical grade oxygen.
