The government has decided to extend the service period of Sudden Death Inquirers, considering the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country.
Accordingly, the service period of permanent and temporary Sudden Death Inquirers has been extended until the 31st of December.
The Ministry of Justice said those completing 70 years of age between the 1st of August and the 31st of December and coroners who have not received a service extension after the 31st of March will not be required to submit applications for service extensions.
The Justice Ministry said customary protocol will be followed regarding service extension of Sudden Death Inquirers after the 31st of December.
The Justice Ministry said however the circular will not be applicable for those who were subject to disciplinary action.
