COLOMBO (NewsRadio); More than 75,000 tourists have visited Sri Lanka during the first 20 days of September.
According to provisional data issued by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, 75,222 foreign nationals arrived in the island thus far in September.
Visitors from India continue to dominate the tourist numbers with 19,767 Indian nationals arriving in the month of September as well.
Meanwhile, the SLTDA added 5,336 individuals from the United Kingdom, 5,199 from Germany, 4,835 from Russia, 4,338 from China, and 4,064 tourists from Australia have also visited Sri Lanka this month.
The SLTDA said 136,405 tourists in total arrived in August.
Accordingly, 979,540 tourists have visited the country so far this year.
