COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Semi-luxury passenger bus service will cease operations from the 31st of May.
Director-General of National Transport Commission Nilan Miranda said the number of complaints pertaining to semi-luxury buses received from the passengers has increased steadily.
He said the proposal to end semi-luxury bus services was mooted in the past on several occasions.
Nilan Miranda said accordingly, the operations will end on the 31st of May.
He noted around nearly 430 semi-luxury buses are in operation at present, and the owners will be given the option to convert them into either general or luxury service buses free of charge.
