Lanka Sathosa has reduced prices of 12 essential items at its outlets.
Chairman of Lanka Sathosa Pasanda Yapa Abeywardena said the price revisions will come into effect from today (19).
Accordingly, a kilogram of big onions has been reduced by Rs.5 to Rs.180 while a kilogram of white sugar has been reduced by Rs.2 to Rs.216.
Meanwhile, a kilogram of red rice was reduced by Rs.8 to Rs.187, a kilogram of local white rice was reduced by Rs.10 to Rs.179 and a kilogram of local samba rice was reduced by Rs.10 to Rs.210.
Local white nadu rice will be available at Rs.189, imported white nadu rice at Rs.180, keeri samba at Rs.239 and red dhal at Rs.370.
A kilogram of dried chilli has been reduced by Rs.50 to Rs.1,730, wheat flour reduced by Rs.5 to Rs.235 and a kilogram of sprats has been reduced by Rs.20 to Rs.1,100.
