A ship containing 100,000 MTs of crude oil imported from Russia will reach the island tonight.
Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera mentioned that sample testing will be done tomorrow.
Another ship carrying 120,000 MTs of crude oil is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka between the 23rd and 29th of August.
Both vessels contain Russian Urals crude oil.
Operations at the Sapugaskanda oil refinery are expected to start by the middle of next week.
