Russia agrees to provide urea and MOP fertiliser for Lankan farmers

Russia renewing its ties with Sri Lanka has agreed to provide urea and Muriate of Potash fertiliser stocks for local farmers.

COLOMBO (NewsRadio); Russia renewing its ties with Sri Lanka has agreed to provide urea and Muriate of Potash fertiliser stocks for local farmers.

The Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement that the matter was discussed during a meeting between Subject Minister Mahinda Amaraweera and Russian Ambassador in Colombo Levan Dzhagaryan.

During the meeting both parties have agreed to take prompt measures to complete formalities in order to supply urea and MOP fertiliser stocks for local farmers ahead of the next Maha season.
