The brother of the wife of Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen who was arrested over a rape, has been granted bail.
He was arrested by police for allegedly raping a woman in 2016.
NewsRadio court correspondent said Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala ordered the suspect be released on a Rs.500,000 surety bail.
Orders have been issued to impound his passport while the Magistrate also imposed an international travel ban on the suspect.
