General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways Dhammika Jayasundara says restrictions imposed on train passengers will be lifted from today.
Inter-provincial trains are due to operate from Kandy, Beliatta, Matara, Galle, Maho, Kurunegala, Rambukkana and Puttalam.
He noted 50 train journeys will operate along the main railway line, 66 along the Up-Country railway line, 17 along the Kelani valley line and 16 along the Puttalam line.
Jayasundara requested passengers to adhere to health guidelines issued by the government when travelling by train.
