The Nuwara Eliya Magistrate’s Court has issued orders to exhume the body of 16-year-old Ishalini Jude, before a board of specialist doctors while adhering to quarantine guidelines, and to be escorted with heavy Police security to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital for the second post-mortem examination.
She died while employed as a domestic worker at the residence of Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen. The order was issued today by Magistrate Lushaka Kumari Dharmakeerthi.
The order was issued when Police submitted details in Court through a B-Report in relation to the order issued by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court pertaining to the exhumation of the remains of Ishalini, for a second post-mortem examination.
She ordered the respective Grama Niladhari officer and Public Health Inspectors to also be present when the body is exhumed at 8.30am tomorrow.
NewsRadio area correspondent said Police presence has been beefed up around the public cemetery in Dayagama West, where her remains have been laid.
Meanwhile, Police have recorded statements from five individuals who previously served as domestic workers at the residence of MP Bathiudeen.
Police said investigations revealed that 11 women have worked at the MPs residence since 2010.
Statements were recorded from five women.
Police said all 11 persons are from the Dayagama area.
