Police say several quarantine orders will be strictly enforced from today.
Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana requested the public to adhere to restrictions and health advice and remain at home, during the imposition of quarantine curfew.
Meanwhile, Police said although permission will not be granted for the conduct of wedding ceremonies at reception halls or at home from tomorrow, marriage registrations can take place with a limited number of persons in attendance.
Accordingly, the bride, groom, their parents, the registrar and two witnesses will be able to attend the registration ceremony.
Senior DIG Ajith Rohana stressed permission will not be granted for the conduct of events, public gatherings or workshops from today, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He further noted only essential services will be able to operate during the imposition of quarantine curfew, from 10pm to 4am.
