The Department of Motor Traffic informs that a decision has been reached to introduce a QR code for driving licenses.

Commissioner General Kusalani de Silva said when renewing driver’s licenses, the new license will include the QR code.

de Silva said Sri Lanka has four types of driving licenses, adding that all licenses when updated will include a QR code.

The Commissioner General meanwhile noted that vehicle registrations dropped last year due to the import restriction on vehicles.
