The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has requested the government to publish the remaining 20 volumes of the report by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe the Easter Sunday attacks.
Speaking to media in Colombo today Parliamentarian Kavinda Jayawardene said the opposition will protest against the government, if it tries to silence the voices of Catholic priests through the use of unrelated laws.
The MP called on the government to comply with the people’s right, and publish the full report to be viewed by the public.
MP Kavinda Jayawardene stressed that priority was given to the investigation on Rev. Cyril Gamini since it was launched as an oppressive measure, at a time when many other complaints remained unresolved.
He claimed a complaint lodged by the SJB over a statement made by Minister Wimal Weerawansa claiming government members supported the Easter Sunday attacks, has not been examined yet.
He added Ven. Galagodaththe Gnansara Thera was also not investigated over his alleged knowledge of locations of explosives.
