COLOMBO (NewsRadio); State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe urges the general public to provide accurate information before the March 31 deadline to receive welfare benefits.

State Minister Shehan Semasinghe said they are currently in the process of evaluating the 3.7 million applications filed to obtain welfare benefits.

The State Minister noted that the on-going information survey has completed evaluating 1.1 million applications in 334 divisional secretariats across the country.

The survey conducted to identify eligible individuals and families for the welfare benefits payment programme will conclude on the 31st of March.

State Minister Shehan Semasinghe noted that sailing to provide information before the deadline could result in the loss of benefits.

Therefore, he urged all applicants to submit accurate and timely data to the survey officers conducting the information survey.
